The Greater Western Victoria Rebels travel to the Queen Elizabeth Oval in Bendigo to take on the Dandenong Stingrays at 3pm in Round 3 of the TAC Cup season.
The GWV Rebels clash with Stingrays is the third and final match on the day where all 6 TAC Cup Country teams are showcased.
The Rebels clash with the Bendigo Pioneers last week at Alfredton Oval defiantly lived up to expectation with both teams displaying periods of dominance over the game. However it was the Pioneers who put in a strong third quarter effort who managed to come away with a close 12 point win over the Rebels.
The Stingrays are coming off a 77 point loss against the Geelong Falcons, and will be looking to make amends against a hungry Rebels outfit.
The Rebels will be missing majority of their St Patricks College students this week due to the School having their Annual Football Camp this year being held in Darwin so this will give some TAC Cup opportunities for new players.
Coming into the team for their first taste of TAC Cup football will be debutants Angus Gove (Horsham Saints FC), Matt Schnerring (Warrnambool FNC) and Mar Gattek (South Warrnambool FC) who was also a member of the 2016 Rebels Squad.
The Rebels U16 Development Squad will be playing on Friday the 7th of April also at the QEO in Bendigo kicking off at 1.20pm. They’ll take on the Dandenong Stingrays in their third and final match of the carnival and will be looking for a win to strongly finish off their campaign after defeating the Bendigo Pioneers last week. Following the U16 Squad will be the TAC Cup Girls team who will play at 3.10pm also on Friday. The girls got over the line in a close finish against the Pioneers last week after defeating them by just five points.
