This Saturday the GWV Rebels will travel down the Western Highway again to Trevor Barker Oval, where they will compete against the Sandringham Dragons in Round 8 of the 2017 TAC Cup at 2:00pm.
The Rebels are coming off the back of an impressive 8 point win last week against the Western Jets at Eureka Stadium. In what was an honest and well fought contest all day, the Rebels found themselves 10 points down at the start of the last quarter, but with three unanswered early goals it set them up for an adequate final term.
The Rebels will this week be searching for their fourth win of the season and their second in a row. The only thing that stands in their road is the Dragons, who will be looking to bounce back after a 23 point loss last week to the Murray Bushrangers. The 4th placed Sandringham outfit will be out to get the 6th placed Rebels, in what will be a competitive display of a high standard of football.
Inclusions for the Rebels into the Round 8 side will be Jacob Lohmann (Lake Wendouree) after missing last week to injury, Josh Chatfield (Koroit) who is returning after being out for several weeks due to a lower back injury and Naish McRoberts (Stawell) who will return due to the 19 year old rotation system.
