This Saturday the Rebels will travel to Warrawee Park, Oakleigh, to take on the Chargers at 2:00pm in what will be a fierce contest between the two teams.
The rebels are searching for their third win in a row after defeating the Eastern Ranges last weekend at Box Hill City Oval. The game was a close arm wrestle up until half time, as the two teams entered the rooms with only one point between them. In the second half the Rebels proved too determined, kicking 10 goals to Eastern’s 2, eventually running over the line 53 point victors.
The Rebels now aim to take down a strong Oakleigh Charger outfit who will be looking to improve on their strong start to the season and gain their 4th win, making this weekend’s game very important for both teams.
This week’s Rebels line up will see up to 3 debutants Ethan McLaren (Koroit FC), Jake Lohmann (Lake Wendouree FC) and Luke Bull (South Gambier FNC) enter the side to play their first match of TAC Cup football. All three boys enter the team as 17 year olds, Ethan a fast and agile player, Jacob a very smart reader of the play and Luke an inside midfielder. Jacob will play as our 23rd player for his first match.
