The Greater Western Victoria Rebels will this week take to Alfredton Oval, Ballarat this Sunday, in a TAC CUP Rebels Triple Header against the Bendigo Pioneers.
The Rebels clash with Bendigo kicks off with the TAC Cup Girls playing their third match for the season after going down to Geelong last week by 29 points. They will begin the day with a 11:00am start whilst welcoming 4 new debutants to their team in Portia Hughes (Redan), Rebecca Sinclair (Lake Wendouree), Nicola Penny (Ballarat Grammar) and Caitlyn Smith (South Warrnambool).
The U16 Boys Development Squad will follow the girls at 12:30pm, after also being defeated last week by the Geelong Falcons in what was a close encounter until the fourth quarter.
The Rebels TAC Cup Boys clash with the Geelong Falcons last week was proving a close contest between the two rivals until half time, after which the hard running Falcons played a dominate third quarter, defeating the Rebels comfortably. After this loss the Rebels will definitely be looking to bounce back against Bendigo, this match will commence at 2:30pm.
The Pioneers are coming off a 51 point loss to the Bushrangers last week, so will also be looking to bounce back with a win, this will no doubt make for a great contest between the two teams.
This will be the first time that all three of the GWV Rebels teams have played matches at the same venue and on the same day, no doubt the day will be packed with a high standard of football across all grades.
The Rebels strongly encourage all local coaches and the football community to come along and watch and support the boys and girls within the GWV Rebels Programs and experience the TAC CUP standard and professionalism.
