Australia’s premier underage football competition, the TAC Cup kicks off for the Greater Western Victoria Rebels this Saturday in a triple header against the Bendigo Pioneers, at MARS Stadium, Ballarat.
Again this year the TAC CUP competition will become the AFL’s major recruiting ground for the best under age footballers for the 2018 AFL Draft and the future.
The day will kick off with the TAC Cup Girls competition, who will play their third game of the season, coming up against the Bendigo Pioneers at 10:30 am at MARS Stadium, with the Rebels girls seeking their first win for the season. Following them will see the Under 16 Boys Development squad who will play their first game of the AFL Vic Country Challenge Series competition at 12:00 pm.
The TAC CUP Boys team will then be eager to take on the Bendigo Pioneers at 2:00 pm at MARS Stadium, after an encouraging performance against the Pioneers in a practice match earlier in the preseason.
This week’s line up will see twelve Rebels players make their TAC Cup debut. This is a great achievement for these boys as they have all earned their spot throughout a long preseason.
Saturday’s game will no doubt be an exciting match as the Rebels seek to get an early win against the Pioneers. Both teams will be eager to kick start the 2018 TAC CUP season, and no doubt a tough contest will take place.
