The Rebels will take the trip to Morwell to take on the 7th placed Gippsland Power. The first bounce will get underway at 11:00 am at Morwell Recreational Reserve this Sunday.
The Rebels will come out of the blocks firing after the week off and after last fortnight’s win against the Eastern Ranges by 93 points in what was the Rebels best performance of the season so far.
The Gippsland Power boys will also be ready to come out firing this week at home, looking to hold their finals position after a strong performance in their last outing against the Geelong Falcons, where they won by 45 points.
Last time the Rebels met the Power it was a tight contest where the Rebels were able to fight back and get over the line by a close 13 points.
This is a massive clash for the Rebels heading into the most important part of the season. The Rebels will be looking to hold top spot, and they will also be aiming to have some really good form leading into the finals series.
The Rebels suffered a severe setback during the week after losing All-Australian Jarrod Berry for the remainder of the season. Jarrod injured his shoulder in our last outing against the Ranges, which unfortunately required surgery. The Rebels will also miss both Jacob Hopper and Darcy Tucker who will be rested for this week’s clash and exciting tall Nicholas Hausler will also be out due to injury..
Yestin Eades has been promoted to make his VFL Debut with the North Ballarat Roosters this weekend as the 23rd player, they will take on the Collingwood Magpies VFL team. We wish Yestin all the best and we are sure he will add some spark to the Roosters line up.
Jermaine Jones will make his debut with the Rebels playing as the 23rd player after showing some strong form for the Heywood Football Club. Jermaine will add some flare to the group which will help the Rebels against the Power.
