The Rebels are pleased to announce that 2015 Rebels TAC CUP Player and South Warrnambool Football Club Player, Hugh McCluggage has been included in the NAB AFL Level 2 Academy for the 2015/16 Intake.
This is an outstanding achievement for Hugh and his family.
The NAB AFL Academy aims to prepare the country’s best young players for the step up into senior AFL football.
Launched in 1997, the Academy provides talented young players with a NAB AFL Academy scholarship, as an opportunity to develop their football and personal skills in an accelerated AFL program over 12 months.
The Level 2 Squad includes the best 35 under-18 players in the country that will be eligible for the 2017 NAB AFL Draft.
In 2015 there were 203 graduates of the NAB AFL Academy on AFL lists, including nine of the then- captains.
Hugh joins fellow 2015 Rebel TAC Cup Playing Squad members in Jarrod Berry (Horsham Saints FC) and Jarrod Korewha (Koroit FC) in the Level 2 Academy.
As part of the Level 2 NAB AFL Academy Hugh will be involved in week long AFL Club visits, High Performance to the IMG Academy in Florida, 2 Academy games against VFL Clubs in 2017 as well as playing on 2015 AFL Grand Final Day with the Academy against Allies U18 which comprises of the best U18 Players from NSW/ACT, Qld, NT and Tas.
