Congratulations to 2016 Rebel Cedric Cox, who will make his AFL debut for the Brisbane Lions against Richmond this Sunday.
Cox, who originally hails from Halls Creek in Western Australia, made his Rebels debut in Round 10, 2016 against the Geelong Falcons after moving to Camperdown for the 2016 season and impressing for the Magpies, then for the Hampden FNL's senior interleague team.
Cox's silky skills and pace soon caught the eye of recruiters and AFL clubs, who invited him to the National Draft Combine last October, and following that, he was drafted at pick 24 of the 2016 NAB AFL National Draft to the Brisbane Lions.
Cox will be the fourth former Rebel in a week to make his AFL debut, following on from Lions teammates Jarrod Berry and Hugh McCluggage making their AFL debuts against St Kilda last Sunday, and Tom Williamson starring in his AFL debut for Carlton last weekend.
